My name is Jules Pénot, and I am a Junior at Caltech studying Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Aerospace. I was a NASA BIG Idea Challenge Finalist my freshman and sophomore years with the Caltech AIAA student branch, each time winning $180,000 to develop, build and test an innovative design tackling a specific challenge impinging on the upcoming Artemis missions. This year I am one of the cofounders and the Team Lead of Caltech's first ever University Rover Challenge team, CRATER. All of this project experience has also sparked an interest in electrical engineering for aerospace applications, and I intend to one day pursue a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering to formalize this acquired knowledge. Above all, I hope to pursue a fulfilling career in the aerospace industry and make a meaningful contribution to the advancement of human space exploration — and possibly even interstellar travel within our lifetime.
